The Relay
 Calistoga, CA to Santa Cruz, CA

Trip Dates: April 30th - May 3rd



The Relay covers 200 miles broken down into 36 legs. The relay begins in Calistoga, CA and finishes in Davenport, CA. Your team will run one of the most senic relay events.  This relay runs through wine country including Napa and Sonoma.  One lucky runner will get to run the Golden Gate Bridge during the night time under a full moon.  The relay finishes on a strawberry farm on the Pacific ocean, just north of Santa Cruz.  Sign up today to make new friends and create memories on the course.

What is included in the relay trip:
The Team: All team registration and donation fees ($1580 per team!) are included in the package.  Each team will be composed of 12 members.  Sign up early to request the specific legs you want! A team captain will be provided.  You can also specify teammates during your sign up.

Transportation: The package includes van transportation from the San Jose airport on Friday afternoon, April 30th, to the race start.  We will include pick ups at SFO and OAK if needed.   Additionally it includes all van(including damage and liability insurance for all drivers) and gas costs during the relay and transportation from Santa Cruz back to the airport on Monday, May 3nd.

Lodging:Double occupancy lodging on Friday night before the race in Napa, Sonoma or Calisoga.   Also included is double occupany lodging on Sunday night in Santa Cruz, CA.  Single occupancy is an additional $90 per night.

A discount of $90 can be applied if either hotel is not needed.  If both hotels are not needed deduct $180.
Extras:
  • Team logoed technical shirts.

  • Maps - including a detailed book with information on food, gas, etc on the course
  • Cooler for the van
  • First Aid kit
  • Required Team Equipment - flashlights, reflective vests to share, van signs, stop watch.
  • Basic supplies - tape, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags.
  • Basic food kit - water, electrolyte drinks, bread, sandwich meats, peanut butter, jelly, chips, etc.
  • Costs include a $50 per person required donation to Organs 'R' Us.

What is NOT included in the relay trip:
The package does not include airfare to the San Francisco area (SJC, SFO, OAK) or team meals eaten out or any specific runner supplies or specific food.  If we have 10 runners traveling together we may arrange a group contract for air transportation or discounted air travel.

Itinerary:
Friday April 30: Travel to San Jose, CA and meet team at airport.  Spend night near Calistoga , CA.
Saturday May 1: Travel by van from hotel to race start at Calistoga, CA. Begin relay!
Sunday May 2: Finish relay and spend night at a hotel in Santa Cruz.
Monday May 3: Return by van to airport and travel home.
